Peter Davison was born on 13th April 1951 in London. After a string of small TV roles, his big break came in 1981 when he signed up to play the Fifth Doctor. At the time, he was the youngest actor to take on the iconic role, and he went on to portray the Time Lord for three years. Although his tenure in the TARDIS was a relatively short one, Doctor Who has remained a huge part of Peter's career, as well as his personal life. His real life daughter Georgia Moffett appeared as The Doctor's Daughter in 2008, and in 2012 she married Tenth Doctor David Tennant - talk about keeping it in the family! Peter's other notable roles include The Last Detective (ITV) and Law & Order UK (ITV). His stage roles include Hamlet, Spamalot and Legally Blonde.

The start of the 1980s was all about cricket and celery, as the Doctor's fifth incarnation, brought to life by Peter Davison, took over the TARDIS. After a problematic regeneration, this Doctor seemed to have a more vulnerable side. While the Doctors before him were authoritative in the face of impending doom, the Fifth Doctor was somewhat reserved, often leaving it up to fate to determine the outcome with the flip of a coin.
