But while our beloved Time Lord enjoys iconic mainstream status in the UK, this is not something he's achieved (yet) in all of the 200 territories in which his adventuers are currently enjoyed, with some fans being forced to wait months for the latest episodes to be aired in their region.

Despite this, the dedication and passion that is evident throughout the Whovian community is what makes our fandom such a brilliant and coveted place to be. Whether you're in Argentia or Zimbabwe, our devotion to Doctor Who is a special tie that binds fans all around the world. In our new 'Whovians Around the World' feature, we called on Whovians from across the contintents to write about what being a Doctor Who fan is like in their country. So, are you sitting comfortably?
